Market update ex Asia – trending downwards

Market update ex Asia. The “Asia” to New Zealand market in general is softening. We are seeing FCL rates trend downwards which will have flow on affects for LCL cargoes.

Of note we have been offered extremely competitive rates on both MSC and TS Lines. Both are offering significant reductions from current levels.

The new rates ex MSC are effective from tomorrow and TS Lines are in place from 01 October.

From a service perspective MSC have secured weekly berthing windows in the Port of Auckland during the month of October (5th, 12th and 19th). They have also deployed a “sweeper” vessel in Singapore to clear outstanding transhipment cargoes.

All in all, this looks a favourable option to consider in effort to reduce landed cost.

TS Lines are a much smaller shipping line – consequently their port to port offering is not as extensive. TS Lines tend to sail fortnightly BUT offer direct sailings to New Zealand. We feel TS Lines offer is also compelling.

Should you wish to take advantage of either offer please ensure you communicate with one of the Stellar booking team – Diane, Vanessa and Xaine who will do all they can to secure space for you at preferable rates.
