Australia – market update

There continues to be inconsistency with vessel scheduling. ETD’s and ETA’s cannot be be relied upon and can change on a daily basis. We are monitoring these as best we can with the aim of ensuring our data is as up to date as possible.

Vessels are heavily over booked both import and export. In many instances we are experiencing lead times for bookings stretch out to 4-weeks.

Some good news! – There remains some delays but overall KiwiRail service ex Tauranga to Metroport has improved turn around times with the recent deployment of more equipment (trains + carriages) on this route.

Ports of Auckland continues to cause delays with ship lines making arrangements to vessel rotations in effort to minimise loss of schedule integrity as well idle costs. This is causing a flow on effect with all NZ ports now experiencing vessel arrivals outside their scheduled berthing windows.

Airfreight volumes remain strong. Exports are moving freely with reduced delays being experienced East bound (imports) due to more flights being available.
