Rail delays worsen Tauranga to Metroport

We have been advised of severe backlogs in regard cargo at the Port of Tauranga. The current congestion has meant the delivery profile for Metroport bound containers has been pushed out to an average of 4 weeks for general cargo and 7 -10 days for priority cargo.

Per our last broadcast we can confirm KiwiRail have indeed deployed more trains on this leg. Still more have been promised early May. It is hoped once deployed the extra equipment will quickly reduce waiting times and light at the end of the tunnel can been seen once again.

We all look forward to this outcome.

Should you have any concerns re cargo in transit please do be in contact with your Stellar representative – earlier the better so we may apply for priority. Please note – This needs to be done BEFORE the vessel berth’s.
